Donors » Matching Gifts
To support the causes that are important to their employees, many companies will match contributions to Advance Carolina for members of their workforce. Advance Carolina Inc. is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization; therefore, by contributing to Advance Carolina, these companies are eligible to receive a charitable contribution deduction. In the cases of matching gifts to Advance Carolina, there is no tax credit being received by the corporate donor. These donations are not included in the tax credit cap; however, Advance Carolina will use these funds to grant scholarships in addition those scholarships given through the ECENC program.
Gift matching is a way for a taxpayer to increase the value of their Advance Carolina contribution, often doubling or more its value. Taxpayers should ask their Human Resources office to find out if their employer has a matching gift policy.
If a company participates in a matching gift program, this company will provide the appropriate forms to initiate the match. Once the employee has completed the appropriate section of the forms, they should submit them to Advance Carolina so that we can complete any necessary sections required for the matching process.
